Dental Do’s And Don’ts

A lot of ladies out there would love to marry a dentist. There simply must be something about the white coat and the gentle care they receive while in the office for their checkup. And I’m sure the paycheck a lot of dentists pull in doesn’t hurt either.
But what about this guy?
British dentist, Alan Hutchinson, was found guilty on Thursday of having, shall we say, unclean work habits. Yes, it seems the good doctor routinely urinated in his surgery sink, among other things. This was witnessed repeatedly by a dental nurse who had been working for Hutchinson for 16 years.
“He was tucking something into his trousers before zipping them up hastily. I walked over and I was behind him. He moved to the left and I could smell urine,” the nurse told a medical tribunal investigating the claims.
But that’s not all. No, Hutchinson also was said to use his dental tools to clean his fingernails and ears.
Seriously, just imagine going in for your next cleaning. Are you going to be able to sit still while your dentist picks around your teeth with the scraper and tiny mirror? I’m not. I’ll be thinking of all the fingernail dirt and earwax in my mouth.
Rinse, please!
Mr. Hutchinson also made it a habit to not wear gloves or wash his hands, risking the health of “himself, staff and patients” for his more than 28 year long tenure, said the tribunal.
Another hearing will be held at a later date to determine whether Hutchinson should be barred from practicing. I vote yes.
But, friends, I must confess to wondering if this is why the British are known to have bad teeth? I mean, after reading this, is that really just tea stains on their molars? Or is that….oh dear, I don’t even want to think about it.
